How Our Business Service Works
Everyone uses technology in some way or another, and with every passing day, it seems to get more important and complex. Here at The Legend of Skippy, we create and manage your IT budget for you, ensuring that the services and support you need are available when you need it.
Why have we set up our business service like this? Our research has shown that most businesses don’t have an IT budget, instead relying on emergency fixes and making purchases if expensive equipment fails. We’ve seen this process grind businesses to a halt, and it’s not very efficient. By having an IT budget set aside for ensuring services are kept up and running, and if new equipment needs to be purchased to prevent disasters, it makes your business run much smoother.
If your IT setup is good, your business is good, it grows and becomes even more successful. Everyone wins!
Let’s take a look at how our On-Site Support service works. For a monthly or annual fee totaling £3,000, this fee is split in half. £1,500 is set aside as your IT budget, and the other half covers our costs and services for maintaining your IT services and equipment.
Let’s say you need to buy a new laptop, and it costs £400. This is within your existing IT budget, so we buy you a laptop, set it up for you, and make sure it all works. This cost is then subtracted from your budget (£1500 – £400), leaving £1100 available. The new laptop has essentially cost you nothing, as it was already covered by your existing budget.
Many services used by businesses are now also subscription based. Antivirus software needs to be renewed monthly, Office 365 by Microsoft is an annual fee, and cloud storage can also incur regular costs. These costs can be covered using your budget, meaning you can set them up and let us look after them for you at no additional costs.
What if I Use up my Budget?
That’s OK, we’ll have a chat with you before any costs occur that over-step your budget. If it needs to be adapted, we’ll have a professional conversation with you to make sure the best outcome is achieved. This may involve either increasing your budget or making cost savings elsewhere.
What if I don’t spend all of my Budget?
This will roll over into the next year, meaning you won’t lose any part of your budget. Many of our larger clients purposefully don’t spend all of their budgets every year, instead deciding to build up a fund for when large-scale upgrades are required. Servers, in particular, can be quite expensive, and it’s a great feeling when one can be purchased at no additional cost to a business because they have been saving up for one using their surplus budget over a few years.
Are Services Available Outside of the Contracts?
They are but are much more cost-effective if arranged under a contract as no additional costs are involved. Prices for out of contract support start from £45 and will be quoted for upon request.
